Resources and Information

This section contains information and resources to assist the wide range of individuals who come into contact with the Mental Health Review Tribunal (MHRT).

If you are a patient you will be able to find information about your rights. There is also information about the Tribunal’s functions in relation to involuntary treatment and Electro-Convulsive Therapy (ECT).

If you are a victim of a crime that involved a mentally ill offender, or you are another concerned person, you will find information about the ways you can receive information about a patient, and the ways you can give information to the Tribunal.

If you are an allied person you will find information about how to be an allied person and how best to assist the patient when they are having an MHRT hearing.

If you want to observe a hearing, you will find information about the process of applying to be an observer. Tribunal hearings are closed to the public. Observers are only permitted in certain limited circumstances.

If you do not find the information you need, you may email inquiry@mhrt.qld.gov.au
